    Should I take multivitamins everyday?

    I am 27 and self-employed. Reasonably good diet and exercise. I walk about 2-3 miles everyday. I avoid KFC/McDonald's and such fast food restaurants.

    I joined for a gym recently and the gym instructor advised me to take some multivitamin tablets and some protein powders everyday, and suggested that he has them for sale at a good discount with him. Should I buy them? DO I need to take these regularly to maintain a good health?

    If you are taking a good healthy diet, there is no need to take regular multivitamin tablets at your age. Pregnant women are often required to take some vitamins daily as their requirement will be higher during pregnancy.

    Eat a good quantity of fresh fruits and vegetables daily and it takes care of your vitamin, anti-oxidant and fibre needs. However, if your diet lacks these, you may want to consider taking multivitamin tablets.

    As for the gym instructor's offer of discount for tablets, I am not sure what he is trying to sell you and how authentic it is without actually knowing what product it is. Kindly check the product and decide.

    Anyways, I feel that if you really want to take, you should consult a doctor for a prescription. Don't take too many tablets per day, as vitamin overdosage is also possible and leads to many complications.

    It's really hard to eat a perfectly balanced diet that includes the ideal amounts of vitamins and minerals your body needs. You may not feel the effects like taking a drug, but it can really help some health problems in the future from developing after years of not getting enough of a certain thing. This is especially true if you're just genetically prone to an ailment made worse by a nutrient deficiency.

    I take a regular dose (2 pills) of a "mega multi" every day. It has at least the RDA of nutrients, and many things it has many times that of; plus some nutrients that are not part of the RDA. They also have "super green-food concentrates", which can help somewhat when you don't get enough green vegetables in your diet. The one I take happens to be "Now" brand Special Two. I like them because they come in capsules, and the regular super tablets can be a bit big to swallow.

    Bad suggestion i think. Keeping yourself healthy with natural remedies is the best way than taking multivitamin tablets and all that. Walking 2-3 miles a day is a very good habit. Keep it up to keep yourself fit and fine. Avoiding KFC/McDonald's is also a good thing. Try to go with more and more green vegetables and fruits rather than some tablets and stuff like that. If you want ot build muscles and all that then you may go with some protein powder.Don't go with other stuff because these may have some side effects.
