    ESR LEVEL increased - 103

    My E S R has incresed from 8 to 103 . i was suffering from jundice and my Liver was enlarged
    but now USG report tells liver is normal in size and bilurbin is 8 , conj. bilurbin is 5 it is normal but (phosphate is 211,S.G.P.T is 72,S.G.O.T is 59). it has been increased then before , Hemoglobin is 9.0 and ESR is 103 i feel little weak ness in my legs bot no other problem.
    Suggest me why so increase in ESR within 4 months

    Dear Vivek, ESR is a very non-specific test and can be increased in many diseases. By you description, you seem to have acute hepatitis that is resolving. With such a high ESR, it is possible that the hepatitis is autoimmune or granulomatous in origin.

    What are the current test reports of liver function tests? Do you have the alkaline phosphatase (ALP) level?
