does athersclersosis cause MI or just angina?

Hi,
Atherosclerosis is responsible primarily for both angina and MI. The physical reduction in the lumen size results in angina; rupture of the atherosclerotic plaque in the coronary artery results in further thrombus progression and results in MI.
