    Abdominal Auscultation

    Why is abdominal sounds heard better on a 6 inches long line drawn from a point 1inch to left and above umbilicus , running towards right lower quadrant ?

    Probably because the intestines lie underneath that area. But the intestinal sounds are also well heard in the other areas of abdomen. Where did you get to know about this line for abdominal auscultation?
