Welcome to MEDiscuss, an online collaboration for health and medical education.
User Driven Healthcare.
User driven healthcare may be defined as "improved healthcare achieved with concerted collaborative learning between multiple users and stakeholders, primarily patients, health professionals and other players in a collaborative web based interface.”
"Users" of the Healthcare System.
Every human is a user of the healthcare system. Patients, health professionals and students are all 'users' of this system. The roles played may be different at different times. In addition, by virtue of being human, we are also likely to care for other humans, even while not being part of the 'caregiving' part of the official healthcare system. Even 'caregivers' may become 'careseekers' at times. That makes YOU a user too!
We invite you as a human user to become a part of this transformative experience by sharing with all of us your health related life experiences, both as a health seeker and health care giver.
Please register to access all features of this system. You can make new postings, reply to other's postings, rate other's postings, send (private) messages to other fellow members, build your portfolio and personal health records (optional).
Read, Respond and Relate...
Your posts may be in the form of day to day experiences, queries and reflections on the process of caring for other humans if you are posting as a health care giver. If you are posting as a patient (health seeker), you may post your day-to-day thoughts, despairs and hopes that an illness generates.
While medical literature is brimming with information being generated from the vast number of studies available, individual experiences are not being given their due. There is far less data on human experiences on the World Wide Web and our aim with the MEDiscuss system is to document them and at the same time witness how the individual/ collective experience can benefit society as a whole.
If you are ready for this, come, join us.
